Hello
I've been coming to Canada for the past two years to visit my Girlfriend. This past weekend I was pulled into secondary at the Windsor Bridge and was sent back because of two DUI, s over 15 years ago. Now I am in the process of applying for Criminal Rehabilitation. I am interested in getting a Temporary Resident Permit so I could still visit My Girlfriend during this process, which could take 9-12 months. I would like to know how to move forward with this. I just found out that I cannot phone the customs office at Windsor from my home in WI, so I am hoping you can answer two questions for me. I would like to be able to phone your office next Wed. When I'm in route to Toronto in order to determine how backed up the crossing might be at Windsor when I arrive in the Detroit area. Will your customer service number work for me a couple hours west of Detroit, or is there a number I can call? I may decide to proceed north to Port Huron if I could potentially be significantly delayed at the Windsor crossing. Also, I would like to transport a pan of Lasagna across the border for my son's family, due to serious health issues. I will have little time to cook for them while there, so wanted to prep something in advance for them. Certainly do not want to do that if it's not acceptable. Thank you very much for any assistance you can provide.
