The College of Arabic and Islamic studies – Dubai located in Dubai is a philanthropy endowment institution established on the guidelines of the religious endowment (waqf) that characterized the Islamic history and which supported the establishment and continuity of educational institutions and centers such as al-Azhar in Egypt, al-Qarawiyyan University in Morocco and al-Zaytunah University in Tunisia.

The College of Arabic and Islamic studies – Dubai, when focusing on Islamic and Arabic Studies, specifically aims to achieve the following: Graduation of special daiyyah who is aware of his religion and language, conscious of his culture and heritage and at the same time well informed in the current sciences, knowledge, and religious groups and trends. With all these qualities in mind, the graduate of the college can play his role in preaching the word of Allah and spreading Islam through wisdom, constructive guidance and convincing dialogue. Graduation of the all rounded faqih who is able to teach and preach Islam convincingly in a style void of self interest.
College of Arabic and Islamic studies – Dubai started by welcoming its first patch of male students in 1407 A.H. /1986 A.D. In the ensuing year, 1408 A.H / 1987 A.D., the admission of the first female group took place. College of Arabic and Islamic studies – Dubai actually started with the admission of 80 male students and 83 female students. The number of students enrolled increased steadily, reaching 616 male students, and 2180 female students in the academic year 2000/2001. likewise, the number of faculty members increased gradually to cope with the increasing admission of students. The number of faculty members jumped from only six to 53 full time members in addition to 12 part-time Ph.D holders and 4 M.A. holders in the academic year 2000 /2001. A considerable number of the part-time faculty members are UAE citizens.
The College of Arabic and Islamic studies – Dubai graduated the first male patch in the academic year 1990 / 1991, while the first female patch graduated in the following year 1991 / 1992. The total number of graduates till the academic year 2000/2001 amounted to a total of 1329, of whom 226 were female graduates and 1103 male students.
College of Arabic and Islamic studies – Dubai has been lately equipped with the following laboratories: Computer Laboratories - These labs provide support for the teaching / learning process. They also serve the College programs and respond to the students' future needs. Laser Technology Laboratory - It is a laboratory that facilitates learning the proper recitation "tajweed" of the Holy Qur'an.
The academic library is the backbone of the college since it fulfills its aim in the educational and scientific areas. It also provides the researchers with the main source and references required for conducting research. The following are some of the aims of the main library. The library catalogues facilitate the use of the library. College of Arabic and Islamic studies – Dubai main library contains the adequate catalogues required to help its users. The library staff are responsible for helping the library users to reach and use the library collection easily. The collection of the main library amounts to 50,000 references and books, as well as 168 journals. The bulk of this collection is related to the sciences of Islamic religion and Arabic language literature. Part of the library collection serves the needs of other branches of sciences.
