National Insurance Academy School of Management – NIASOM Pune was established in 1980 by the Finance Department of the Government of India as a private-public venture. Set in the scenic natural surroundings of the city of Pune. National Insurance Academy School of Management – NIASOM Pune will build its worldwide reputation by helping insurance industry players achieve their objectives, by realizing the true potential of their human resources. National Insurance Academy will begin to build the insurance order, the order in which each of us has the chance to grow, to achieve, to contribute, to create dignity for ourselves and for others also; the order in which each of us has a stake, a share; and we will give back to our next generation what they deserve: a heritage of insurance academics.
Vision of National Insurance Academy School of Management – NIASOM Pune will build a community of learners having multidisciplinary skill sets, founded on academic and professional excellence from which all partners in the educational process emerge prepared to contribute productively, responsibly, and ethically to the industry, the country and the humanity to create a new social order. As a response to repeated demands from the insurance industry for human capital that combines technical insurance skills with managerial foresight to foster the progress of the industry in a liberalized and keenly competitive, economic and financial environment, the National Insurance Academy decided to initiate the School of Management to start a full time 2 year program.

The curriculum of National Insurance Academy School of Management – NIASOM Pune has been designed in a manner where equal importance is given to class room learning and self audit through a series of case / project based learning assignments, active participations in Curricular and Para-curricular activities, involvement in day-to-day organizational practices, intensive involvement in off-campus action research projects and exposure to unstructured problems with a view to enabling the students to manage the real life situations efficiently. College offers different kind of courses leading to different streams.
National Insurance Academy School of Management – NIASOM Pune is located in 25, Balewadi, Baner Road, NIA P.O. Pune, Maharashtra. Hostel facility of National Insurance Academy School of Management – NIASOM Pune is spread over 5 buildings with a total of 210 single occupations, fully furnished rooms. Each hostel has a separate lounge. The hostel reception offers round the clock check in/out to the participants. PCO facility is available for making inland as well as international calls. Each participant is accommodated in a single room in the hostel. Rooms are fully furnished and have private attached bath. Laundry services are also available. NIA has three dining halls which can accommodate 30/35 participants each with buffet facilities. The NIA campus is surrounded by a beautiful jogging track spread over an area of around 1.5 Kms. enabling the participants to enjoy the fresh air and chirping of birds. National Insurance Academy School of Management – NIASOM Pune has multi-purpose hall for indoor badminton court, table-tennis, exercise bicycles as well as stage for cultural programmes.
Sports facility of National Insurance Academy School of Management – NIASOM Pune offers a full range of sports and recreation facilities within its campus. Fitness buffs can engage themselves in jogging and swimming. Indoor games include badminton, table tennis, carom and bridge. The Equipment Park has facilities like static biking, swinging and rocking.
