The Model Institute of Engineering and Technology-MIET has been developed over an area of more than 25 acres or 10 hectares of land situated at a distance of about 13 kms from Jammu Tawi Railway Station and 9 kms from the City Bus Stand along old Akhnoor Road. The land area of the campus is endowed with gentle slopes giving the college buildings an elevated look. The landscaping is under progress and the area is dotted with sufficiently large number of tall and well-grown trees.Among the college buildings, the one completed is a three storey majestic block having a total carpet area of 26000 sft. The architecture of the building is unique and is in conformity with other palatial buildings existing in Jammu. One workshop building with a floor area of 6500 sft has also been completed. The other buildings will be added according to the concept plan in a phased manner.

The Model Institute of Engineering and Technology-MIET has set up state of art laboratories in each discipline as per prescribed norms and standards of the AICTE and the University of Jammu. The workshop is also well equipped and designed to meet the needs of the students undergoing training in Engineering disciplines.

The Model Institute of Engineering and Technology-MIET maintains a highly functional and well-equipped Library, which stocks standard books published in India and abroad. Besides having a sufficient number of course books, a large number of journals, magazines, newspapers, periodicals, encyclopedia, reference books, research publications are procured to keep the readers abreast with the latest knowledge in different branches of learning. The Library serves as a valuable resource centre for the students and the staff members. Library is presently housing 7000 volumes and is subscribed to nearly 30 scientific and technical Journals. Books are issued as per Library rules framed from time to time.Two hostel buildings, one for boys and the other for girls, having a capacity of 150 students are proposed to be constructed at the site in the first phase. For the present, depending upon the need, students are helped in getting accommodation in areas around the institution on private basis.

Model Institute of Engineering and Technology-MIET is located at the distance of about 9 kms from the City Bus Stand. For an easy and speedier access to the campus, there is available a regular mini bus service with good frequency from all parts of the City. Regular buses also ply on the old Akhnoor Route. The Placement Division at Model Institute of Engineering and Technology-MIET has been planned to provide strong student support for placement in the current and emerging spheres of Engineering at appropriate levels. For this a student database is being maintained and an interface would be established with leading employers all over India for holding Campus Based Interviews and suitable absorption in different organizations. The construction of new Laboratory block of about 13000 sq.ft. area to house the laboratories has already been completed. The Laboratories have been shifted to the new block .The construction of a new three-storied Academic Block; to meet the requirement of the College in a phased program has started.
