Padre Conceicao College of Engineering - PCCE Verna is named after Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues, a patriot and founder of Agnel Ashram, who died in 1984 after making a notable contribution in the field of Technical Education of the at national level. It is remembered that then Director of Technical Education of the State of Maharastra, Prof. G. Kadu in his oration at the funeral of Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues, called him a Saint of Technical Education.
Padre Conceicao College of Engineering - PCCE Verna was established in the year 1997 to meet the growing needs of technical man power of Goa as well as in other parts of the country. The main aim was to provide quality technical education in addition to inculcating proper values and sound character to its students. It is a private engineering college in the state of Goa run on self-financing basis. The college aims to impart technical education that is practical-oriented and value-based to develop an integrated personality in the students.

It includes stacking area, reference section, main reading area and separate reading area for reference section. The main reading section can accommodate about 100 students. The reading area of reference section can accommodate about 20 students. In
Padre Conceicao College of Engineering - PCCE Verna, currently the Library holds a collection of 13,000 books which include textbooks as well as reference books. The field of engineering is fast developing; to help the students and the staff keep abreast of the current developments, the Library regularly subscribes to 47 periodicals out of which 13 are international journals and 34 national journals. This is an age of digital libraries. Computerization of the library is already in process with an aim to help our patrons in utilizing the resources more efficiently by keeping all relevant information (like new arrivals, availability of titles of their interests etc.) at their finger tips. The INTERNET lead information explosion is changing the way we look at the world by making information available to every one in a cheap and efficient way. To harness the positive potential of the INTERNET for our user community, the library will be INTERNET-enabled shortly.

The College students are considered to be technically very sound. Being affiliated with Goa University, a university with an accreditation from NBA, the students answer the same exams as the government engineering college. The college was ranked at 1109th position all india by a famous ranking magazine and was ranked third most preferred engineering institute in goa after BITS pilani and goa engineering college.
