Raja College of Engineering and Technology – RCET Madurai was established by the Arun Ramkumar Educational Trust founded by PMJF.Lion G. Nagarajan. The College started functioning during the academic year 1995-96 with the approval of All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and Government of Tamil Nadu. College has obtained ISO 9000-2001 Certification in the year 2005.

Raja College of Engineering and Technology – RCET Madurai is located in a sprawling campus around 6 kms from Anna Bus stand on Madurai-Sivagangai road. The mission of the College is to offer quality education in Engineering, Technology and Management to the youth, particularly to those underprivileged, living in rural areas with focus on students Personality Development, their competence at Global level, R&D Efforts and Faculty Development. Raja College of Engineering and Technology – RCET Madurai vision is to emerge as a unique Institute of Excellence to groom youth into professional of high caliber in the fields of Engineering, Technology and Management. A well equipped civil lab, Computer Science Lab, Electrical and Electronics Lab, Electronics Lab, Information Technology Lab, Mechanical Lab and language lab has been set up with in the campus with all equipments for students so that they an do practical work in lab.

Raja College of Engineering and Technology – RCET Madurai has a moderately equipped library with open access system having more than 6000 books. The library offers two types of facilities viz. Reading and Lending. At the time of admission, a student has to pay library fees and he/she is entitled to a reading room card. On payment of refundable Library Deposit, a student is entitled to lending card, against which books can be borrowed for home use. Details rules of library are printed on the library card.

A fully equipped Gymkhana of Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College – Madurai with a large playground is a part of infrastructure facility provided to the students in the college. Although participation in all games is encouraged a special facility in the form of training under the supervision of experienced coaches in games like Volleyball, Basketball, Football exists on campus. Intra Collegiate competitions are arranged for indoor games like Badminton, Chess and Carom.
