Mamata Medical College - Khammam is the first private, self funded College to have earned final recognition from Medical Council of India as a Medical College, in the State of Andhra Pradesh with 150 annual admissions in take.Mamata Medical College - Khammam was awarded 'A' Grade (Very Good) with CGPA of 3.12 on four point scale by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council on 31st December, 2009.

Mamata Educational Society was established, in May, 1992, by Sri Puvvada Nageswara Rao, who is a renowned politician and social worker and by dedication educationist and philanthropist of repute.Sri Puvvada Nageswara Rao has been the Member of Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh representing khammam from 1989 to 1999 and represented the Legislative Council from 1981 to 1985and again from 2006 till date.

The Medical College has its own hospital, i.e. Mamata General Hospital. It has a total of 790 beds. All are free and teaching beds. Hospital is in a separate campus. An air conditioned Central Library is situated in a separate block of the Mamata Medical College - Khammam occupying a total of approx. 8500 sq.ft area to provide resource material of the highest quality, to teach skills needed for academic inquiry and lifelong learning to support faculty and postgraduate research.The library of college has a digital section, with 50 computer terminals and Internet facility through the broad band connection. Library computerization and “Bar-coding” of the entire library material is in process.
