Ever since the Late His Highness Ganga Singh Ji, who visualized and founded Sriganganagar, there haven’t been many visionaries who made a difference to the town or its people. Mr. Surendera Kumar Agarwal, Chairman of the Trust, a philanthropist with a vision, migrated to Sriganganagar in 1988 with a mission to establish premier institutions for the propagation of medical and dental education to provide international standard medical and dental facilities to the society. He is a man with far sight and foresight both and a well known philanthropist who is adept at perceiving the perfect remedy for the ailing community and the people at large. It was after much persuasion and persistence of the Trustees that he finally agreed to lend his name to the College. Mr. Surendera Kumar Agarwal formed and registered the trust in 1999 in the memory of his parents Late Smt. Vidyawanti and Sh. Labhu Ram. The trust aimed at dissemination of education in the fields of medicine and dentistry, paramedical and other allied sciences and to carry out research activities in fundamental and applied medical sciences, the ulterior motive being alleviation of sufferings of the society and pursue other philanthropic activities. There was no Dental College in Sriganganagar or even within the radius of 500 Kms in Rajasthan, thus the trust decided to establish a Surendra Dental College and Research Institute that would not only prepare professionals for tomorrow, but also give means of livelihood to so many who would be directly or indirectly attached with this profession.

Nearly 300 patients seek dental treatment daily and thus the students get an adequate exposure to the various modern diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The students of Surendra Dental College and Research Institute are also involved in orientation programs on preventive & community dentistry in nearby villages and towns. The sterilization procedures are specially taken care of and for that high grade German equipment has been installed. There is a state of art operation theatre in the department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Implantlogy where all kinds of trauma cases and implant procedures are handled. There is fully computerized monitoring equipment that keeps record of every aspect of the physical being of the patient during surgery. Biomedical waste management is carried out as per defined norms.

The laboratories of the Surendra Dental College and Research Institute are very spacious and well ventilated. They are equipped with state of the art instruments and accessories and designed particularly in a fashion that each student can work independently and get individual personalized attention by the faculty. The institute has large air conditioned lecture theatres, adequate to accommodate 150 students in each, scientifically designed. Visibility, acoustics and sitting comfort have been specially taken care of. The audio-visual teaching aids like the public address system, overhead projectors, and 35 mm slide projectors and LCD projectors are also available in each lecture theatre. Lecture Theatres have recently been refurbished including the installment of air-conditioning and the latest technical audio and visual equipment.

The hospital has two specialized Community Mobile Dental Vans through which it provides primary dental & medical health services to country folks and underprivileged people of the society living in the radius of about 100 Kms of Sri Ganganagar, by organizing regular dental treatment / checkup camps. These services are provided free of cost to inculcate health awareness and the necessity of health care to the community.

The Surendra Dental College and Research Institute has been bagging merit positions in the University Examinations every year. The institution is shortly starting M.D.S. (Master of Dental Surgery) program in 9 specialties’.

Separate hostel accommodation for boys and girls is available on the Campus. To create a healthy and competitive atmosphere, boarding and lodging in the hostels is compulsory for the students except for the locals. This would facilitate the students coming from different environments and backgrounds to intermix, develop brotherhood & peer learning and overall development of an individual. These qualities are considered essential for dental practice. The rooms are designed to accommodate three students per room provided with separate individual furniture. Centralized bathrooms and toilets are also provided with hot water facilities in winter. College offers Bachelor of Dental Surgery Course to Students.

To take care of the children like their mothers the Surendra Dental College and Research Institute provides nourishing, balanced, delicious and multi-cuisine diet and provides meals from breakfast to dinner. Cold and hygienic water is available. Common rooms with indoor games, separate visitor’s room and laundry facilities are available in the hostels. Telecommunication facility is also provided. To get and retain a competent, full time and experienced senior teaching faculty, spacious and well-designed faculty apartments have been constructed in between the boys and girls hostels.
